Hedgehog: “Rustle Grow”

"Grow through what you're going through."

This phrase is a constant reminder for me—especially when I feel overwhelmed or stuck in a difficult problem.

I grew up in an environment where every problem was a catastrophe. Even the smallest inconvenience could derail an entire day. And, naturally, that way of thinking became rooted in me.

I left that ecosystem to serve my country, and that mindset no longer served me. I couldn’t let every setback become a disaster. While that poison still lingered within me, I did my best not to show it.

After my military service, that catastrophic thinking evolved into something worse. Everything started feeling like a life-or-death scenario—even when stakes weren’t nearly that high.

Problems seemed to soil my life until I began to cultivate a different mindset. And I learned to use adversities as the soil for my life.

Now, instead of seeing problems as dead ends, I see them as chances to nurture a new nature. I remember growth is around every corner of a hedge maze.

With that mindset shift, I now look forward to finding solutions instead of blaming the problem itself. I'm grateful for obstacles because they are the seeds of new growth.

Hedgehog is a small reminder of a big idea: Don't just go through it, grow through it. If you're also nurturing a better nature, consider adding a little “Rustle Grow” to your garden.
